After 18 years owning an automotive related company in the Detroit area, Mike retired to Charlevoix and pursued his hobby of photography. After discovering Northern Michigan scenery was abundant in all four seasons for photography, he was a featured artist with an African exhibit at the Charlevoix Circle or Arts and then founded the Charlevoix Photography Club in 2009. The Club is still very active today with over 65 members.

Using high end medium format photographic equipment, Mike has traveled to a variety of locations worldwide including Iceland, Hudson Bay, Peru, Europe, New Zealand and Africa. His work has been recognized at numerous exhibitions, in magazines, and featured on a Times Square billboard. Mike has juried three exhibitions and received an honorable mention for his Ice Caves of Lake Superior photography from the distinguished International Photography Awards with over 7200 entries.

In 2022 Mike relocated to Lake Keowee in Seneca, South Carolina to be closer to family and looks forward to photographing the waterfalls, mountains and other beautiful scenery of South Carolina.
